Production Engineering Manager
Patria on työpaikka, jossa rakennat yhteistä turvallisuutta.

Patria is a workplace where you build common security. At Patria, ordinary people solve extraordinary challenges. When it comes to critical operations on land, sea and air, expertise is vital. Quality is in people – in each and every one of us. You make the difference.

Defence and Weapon Systems is responsible for, among other things, the sales, offering and delivery of weapon systems, air surveillance-related products and drones.
Are you an experienced production engineering leader who enjoys building new capabilities, developing high-technology manufacturing solutions and working close to the factory floor? At Patria, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful and unique defence industry products — solutions that are rarely seen elsewhere.
We are now looking for a
Production Engineering Manager
to lead and develop the Production Engineering team within Patria Defence production in Tampere. In this role, you will ensure the best possible manufacturing solutions and production capacity for new products, support new product ramp-ups and maintain strong production platforms for existing products. You will play a key role in production problem-solving, manufacturing process development, new technology implementation, testing, automation and continuous improvement. The role is based in Tampere.
Your role
As Production Engineering Manager, you will combine technical expertise, leadership and a pragmatic, hands-on approach. You will lead a team that is expected to grow and include production engineers and production testing engineers. The role is both managerial and expert-oriented: you will be responsible for setting direction, building ways of working and ensuring that manufacturing, assembly and testing solutions are efficient, scalable and fit for purpose.
You will work closely with R&D, manufacturing, quality and external partners. A central part of the role is translating product development needs into manufacturable solutions and ensuring that new products can be ramped up successfully into production. Since not everything is ready-made, you need to enjoy developing things from the ground up, actively seeking alternatives and working collaboratively across functions and with partners.
What we expect from you
We expect you to have solid previous experience from a similar production engineering, production development or technical manufacturing leadership role. You have led or coordinated engineering experts and understand how to build efficient production solutions in a high-technology manufacturing environment. Previous managerial experience is important, as this is a leadership role with people management responsibility.
To succeed, you need a strong technical background and an analytical mindset, combined with the ability to act pragmatically and drive things forward. This is not a purely desk-based role: you should be comfortable working close to production, understanding practical manufacturing needs and helping to solve problems together with experts on the shop floor and in product development.
Experience from electronics, electrical products, production testing, automation systems or other high-technology manufacturing environments is seen as an advantage. Strong communication skills in Finnish and English are needed in this role.
What we offer
At Patria, you get to work with meaningful products and technologies that support security of supply and defence capability. This role offers a rare opportunity to be involved in building something new: Developing production engineering capabilities, shaping manufacturing solutions and making a visible impact on how future products are brought into production.
You will report to an experienced leader who gives responsibility, supports success and values independent, solution-oriented work. Both product development and production are closely connected, enabling effective collaboration and practical problem solving.
We offer you personnel benefits such as an annual performance bonus and extensive employment benefits. Our comprehensive occupational health care also includes access to specialists. We also offer leisure-time accident insurance.
