Purchasing and Logistics Manager, Operations, Defence and Weapon Systems
to join our team in Hämeenlinna or Tampere
Position Overview
Our Defence and Weapon System business area production environments depend on reliable purchasing of components, efficient logistics coordination, and strict compliance with international trade regulations.
To support our DWS operational growth, we are looking for a highly hands-on and performance-driven Purchasing and Logistics Manager to ensure uninterrupted supply chain and material flow, optimized inbound and outbound logistics and forwarding.
Purchasing and Logistics Manager is responsible for operational procurement, forwarding, transport management, and international logistics coordination.
This is a key operational managerial role directly impacting production continuity and our business performance.
This role ensures:
Continuous material availability for production
Efficient and on-time purchasing execution and purchase orderbook control and follow-up including forwarding activities.
Proper execution of import/export processes
Compliance with customs and trade regulations
Effective leadership of the purchasing and forwarding function
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Purchasing
Logistics & Forwarding Management
Warehouse & Inventory Control
Supplier & Performance Management
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Candidate Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or Business
Minimum 5–7 years of experience in industrial purchasing and logistics
Proven experience managing operative purchasing, international shipping and forwarding operations
Strong understanding of customs procedures and trade compliance
Experience with ERP/MRP systems in a production environment
Hands-on leadership style with operational focus
Ability to manage pressure in a fast-paced industrial setting
Key Competencies:

Cross-functional coordination (Production, Sourcing, Operative Planning, Finance and Trade Compliance)

Freight and forwarding expertise
